Giants Spring Training in Arizona

Steve and I took a trip to Arizona a week or two ago to see friends, soak up the warm sun, and take in a few Giants Spring Training games. Somehow, the only pictures we came away with were from the games.

My old co-worker, Mer, met us there with her husband and his friend. You know how it works at these games, especially when you have lawn seats. You end up talking the whole time. In all honesty, I think I saw only two plays the entire game! When I start to hear loud cheering I look up, just in time to see the homerun.

Camp Bow Wow

I dropped Blackjack off this morning at his doggie camp for boarding while we're out of town. I love watching him from my computer, so fun! He's having a blast, lots of high-energy dogs there today for him to play with.

Packing

Packing is the best part of traveling. I love picking out what to bring and organizing it all nice and neat in my suitcase. And how could it be any more exciting than when packing using new luggage! We finally gave in and bought quality luggage. We've been dragging around cheap suitcases from high school that have started falling apart. But not anymore! Now we each have our own set of good luggage and I can't wait to use it for the first time this weekend!

Bagel Thins

Can I just say, what a great idea, I love these! Now I can have a bagel with cream cheese and not feel guilty about eating 500 carbs just for the bagel. A regular sized bagel always was too big anyway.

Churros!

For Valentine's Day, I asked for flowers and a fancy dinner out. Steve asked me to make him a yummy dessert. I decided to suprise him with one of his favorite carnival treats. Churros! I'd never made them before but it was actually really fun. And they turned out yummy.

Playdate

Blackjack's first foster sister, Pepper (new name is "Juno"), came to stay with us last weekend while her puppy mama and pops went out of town. She and Blackjack played and chased each other around pretty much every second they were awake. Then when they got tired, they kept switching beds! As you can see, Blackjack is way too big for Juno's bed, but he just couldn't resist something new and velvety soft. Silly dogs.

Avatar

So Steve and I both were part of the group of people that thought the previews for Avatar looked really silly. In fact, they showed so many previews of Avatar I started getting annoyed. Then it comes out and everyone talks about how great it is. And to top it off, one of my cousins and his wife said they felt the same way we did, that it looked silly. But they got talked into going with a group and really enjoyed it.

So last weekend we decided to take the plunge and spend 3 hours in an IMAX theater. I have to say, it was definitely better than expected. And I didn't even fall asleep, which I have been known to do in the past. Movie candy helps. But it really was a decent movie. Very predictable, and I'm not promoting it or anything, just saying that sometimes even really dumb looking movies can actually turn out ok. Twilight is not one of those movies.

Anti-Wrinkle Cream and Turning 30

Ok, somewhere along the line I heard it said that every woman should start using some kind of anti-wrinkle cream by the time she is 30. Seeing as that number is just around the corner here in 2010 for me, I went out and bought some night cream and have been using it for about a month now.

Holy cow, why did I not try this stuff sooner?! I don't know if it helps keep the wrinkles away (I didn't have many to begin with), but it sure does make my skin all nice and and soft and smooth! And it really helps keep it moisturized through the night, without being too oily.

Anyone out there have any aging secrets I wish I'd known about sooner?
